The i2 Summit at the ACC 2013 – It’s the BIG Time!
Mar 12, 2013March 12, 2013 - For the fourth year in a row, Med-Scene, L.L.C. has provided live cases into the i2 Summit of 2013. The Summit takes place during the American College of Cardiology annual meeting, taking place this year at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California. The High Definition live cases originated out of the Columbia University Medical Center in New York City, the Asan Medical Center in Seoul, Korea, and the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MinnesotaIn addition to the three days of High Definition live cases at the i2 Summit, Med-Scene also provided live case support for the Congenital Cardiology Solutions meeting of 2013 with a live case out of the Seattle Children’s Hospital in Seattle, Washington. This was an intense, single case, well moderated morning session that had very good audience participation and input from the panelist.
Finally, for the third year running, Med-Scene helped coordinate and produce a videoconference session between the ACC meeting and Dr. Mark Reisman at the Swedish Medical Center and the Seattle Science Foundation. The sessions were titled, “Anatomy and Transcatheter Therapy for the Structural Heart Interventionalist” – parts 1 and 2. This well presented and received session took place using a video conferencing unit and the internet. Although not ideal for live cases, videoconferencing is very useful for smaller, informal sessions where discussion and the video presentation share equal importance.
